  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Best way to migrate Plesk 7.5.4 to a new server

Regular Pleskian
Hi,

I need to migrate a Plesk 7.5.4 installation from an older RHEL3 server to a newer RHEL4 server.

I still want to use Plesk 7.5.4 on the server, since I don't trust Plesk 8.0.1 or 8.1 yet.

Should I use the Plesk Migration Manager and Backup Utilities (psadump/psarestore) for the migration?

Which one is faster and more reliable?

Also, since there is very little free space on the older server, I cannot store a full dump file on it.

Did anyone use the "Simultaneous backup/restore" procedure described at the following URL?

http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk7.5/Doc/plesk-7.5r-backup-restore-html/ch04.html

Anything I should pay attention to doing that?

Thanks.
