  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Bind DNS Slave Server

Hello,

I've got 2 servers, one running plesk and one empty for backup and stuff.

Now I've installed a chrooted Bind9 on the second one (idea is to use it as a slave dns server) but i've really no idea how to config this one! On the Plesk server i wrote the ip into the ACL-section so that the zonefiles can be transfered ... but that couldn't be the only config stuff? The second server is running a minimal centos 5 with a chrooted bind. Here is now the main problem: how to config the secondary slave server?

Maybe someone is able to post a named.conf for the slave dns?

Whow, great link! Seems to be a very clear and good solution ... i'll give it a try later this day - just wondering, that i haven't find this link at my google session yesterday ;)
