  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved can 1 domain access two mysql database, each a different version?

larryk

Regular Pleskian
so can this happen:

1) domain.com
2) domain.com can access mysql_5.5 DB version
and
domain.com can access mysql_5.6 DB version

3) then you can switch back and forth via a simple toggle on the control panel of the domain?

is that true?

thanks

PS> basically, can the same way you can switch between PHP versions, can you do that with mysql?

As far as I'm aware, only one version of MySQL/MariaDB can be installed at a time. There is no option in the control panel to do that.

Maybe someone can correct me.

You can add additional external database in Tools&Settings -> Database Servers, then define it as default MySQL database in Service Plan. If you change default MySQL database in Service Plan Hosting settings and sync this Service Plan to domain.com subscription - you will be able to change database server for this subscription.

Thanks IgorG,

So syncing the Service Plan to a domain subscription is almost the same as a toggle switch ??? (or close enough)... right?

thanks

Yes. You change something in Service Plan, synchronize it, and this change switches something in subscriptions of this Service Plan.
