• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Can not get outgoing SMTP to work (sending mail from my computer)

Dan Mikkelsen

Basic Pleskian
I can not for the likes of me get the server to send mail via smtp from my computer.

I have some clients who need to use their server as a mail sending server also through outlook/thunderbird and such, since they don't have their own ISP to use.

I have tried with thunderbird myself, and it never seems to work. On port 25 it is just timing out. On port 587 it is not connecting.

I create an email with password, and try to use this as the sender login.
I have tried with both mailbox switched on and off.
In the PLESK's mail configurations relay is set to SMTP with authorization required.

I have disabled my antivirus when trying this, as this sometimes redirects to different ports

Anybody have some other stuff i can try?
