• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Cannot create any email addresses

MarchelV

New Pleskian
Hi everyone,

Somehow I cannot create any email addresses. No matter what I try my mail client (thunderbird) does not see the email address I created.

What did I do:
1. Logon to Parallel Panel (11.0)
2. Select tab "Mail"
3. Click "Create E-mail Address"
4. Enter name, select domain and give password.
5. Click "OK"

Now I assume my email address should be working.

In Thunderbird I did:

1. Enter Mail Account Setup
2. Fill in name, email addres and password
3. Select POP3 and give the domain name as Server host name (SMTP as outgoing, same domain name as host name)
4. Give 110 as Port (587 for SMTP)
5. Give None as SSL
6. Give Normal Password as Authentication

Finally I opened port 687 in the firewall.

When I test the email I get an error message "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account."

Can anyone guide me through this dark forrest?

Does these email accounts works correctly in webmail? Why you use 587 port for SMTP instead of default 25?

The webmail works.

Also solved the mistery, though the isp/hosting provider told me the pop3 port was 110, in fact it was 143 : )

Another question, is Parallels Pannel an extra next ti IIS or is it a substitute for IIS? I noticed a lot of functions are in both proframs.

Very strange...

Mail worked for several days, now I cannot receive any mail. None of the email ends up in my mailbox (checking through webmail).
I use port 587 because the ISP disabled port 25. (also a typo in the initial mail, I opened port 587 ofcourse).

Any help will be greatly appriciated!

Any details from Plesk maillog /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog ?

The server is a Windows Web Server 2008, no linux server.

Update 1: According to the ISP the mailserver is not reachable, this could be because the settings in the firewall are not correct or the plex mail service is stopped.

I didn't remove any rules from the firewall nor did I change settings in Plex. Could anyone tell me how to restart the service (just in case)?

Update 2: I enabled all the ports in the firewall which have anyting to do with mail. All the mail until 29-12-2013 work (they are loaded in Thunderbird) but none of the mail after that appear. Also they don't appear in the webmail.
