• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Dear plesk Support

I am using 8.2 for Windows and cannot install any site application

I try to install SMF and phpBB i get the following error,

Notice: Undefined variable: mssqlmng in c:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\plib\DatabaseManagerMSSQL.php on line 220

Fatal error: Call to a member function getErrorMsg() on a non-object in c:\Program Files\SWsoft\Plesk\admin\plib\DatabaseManagerMSSQL.php on line 220

This happens on all domains not specific ones.

Any help is appreciated.

I can conclude that this is a known issue which is fixed in Plesk 8.3.
The core of the error is that upon a siteapp installation it searches _every_ sql server and fails to install if connection to _any_ of them is broken.
To workaround the error, please make sure that there are no 'dead' (with broken connections) sql servers registrered to Plesk, or upgrade to 8.3.

This is quite strange ...
I purchased a Virtual Server from Aruba.it and I don't think I can upgrade Plesk, isn't it ??
Is it a bug ?? Can you solve it with a patch ?
In my plesk home page I read "New Application Pack !!!" but I can not install them.

If you haven't admin's access to this Plesk server, that maybe you can contact to your provider support and request upgrade and "New Application Pack !!!" installation? It is really bug and it was fixed in the next Plesk version.

I have access to my virtual server with remote desktop and with plesk panel. So ... can I install 8.3 ?? Is it a free upgrade ??

Yes, if you have Administrator's RDP access, you can upload Plesk 8.3 distribution kit and upgrade Plesk. It is free upgrade.

Yes, you can. You can upgrade to 9.x version. License will be upgraded too, but if you have not SUS, you should buy it.
