Can't access Plesk panel after drive full

Hi people,

I really hope someone can help me.

I decided I was going to upgrade from 9.2.2 to 9.3. Obviously, not being a muppet I decided I should do a full backup of my server, settings, sites and databases through the backup manager first.

I started a full backup. Things got awfully slow and eventually I got an error message that the drive was full.

It was at this point that I realized that the idiots who set up my dedicated server left the backup path pointing at /var/lib/psa/dumps and that that was in a 4.5GB partition. I will certainly move it to a folder in the home directory with a symbolic-link when I get things back up and running.

Any way, I went back to backup manager and tried to delete the two previous backups from there and got a 404 not found after ages. I tried to log back into plesk and nothing happened at all. After about 20 minutes there is a page cannot be displayed error.

I obviously went straight to SSH. logged in as route went to var/lib/psa/dumps and deleted a bunch of huge tgz's and so on and rebooted the server. When I tried to log into plesk I got the same thing. I decided to restart apache but that has not helped.

On restarting psa I get an error that starting postgresql failed although I'm not sure that that is related to this issue. I also noticed that on stoping the psa service I got 4 device full errors when Stopping mail handlers tmpfs storage even after deleting the contents of var/lib/psa/dump although this has now stopped happening and the 4 errors have gone and plesk stops and starts without complaint, except the postgresql problem.

I still cannot get into the control pannel and I am getting rather worried. I did of course download all the files in /var/libs/psa/dumps but I notice that if I extract any of them I get a load of error messages and I think they are corrupted due to the drive filling up.

This is really a desperate situation for me, I really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

thanks

Solved

Do you know what. I have never ever had a post in this forum answered!

I'll post my own fix in case someone else needs it...

Anyway this issue is solved. established that /dev/sda5/ mounted on / was also full. I found a file in usr/local/psa/PMM/tmp which was 2gb. Downloaded backup and deleted from server. Fixed problem.

Then moved dumps to sda2 mounted on /home/ then set symlink from usr/lib/psa/dumps to is /home/dumps/ to prevent the issue.
