  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Can't add domain alias

I have two sites on a Plesk server, siteA.com and siteB.com. siteA.com is live and siteB.com is under development, but has a live site on another server, so DNS for siteB.com points to another server. I want the client for siteB.com to be able to look at the development on my server. So, I created an A record for siteB.siteA.com in siteA.com's DNS settings, then went to siteB.com to add a domain alias for siteB.siteA.com to it. That way, when somebody typed siteB.siteA.com into their web browser, it would pull up the development siteB.com that resides on my server, not the live siteB.com that resides on another server.

Plesk won't let me do this. When I try to add the siteB.siteA.com domain alias to siteB.com, it says

Error: DNS records for domain with such name already exist

It looks like it works fine w/out adding the A record to siteA.com. I just need to create the domain alias on siteB.com. I'm not sure if I have to check the 'sync dns w/ primary domain' box or not, but it looks like it works with it on.

Now I'm trying to do the same thing with another domain and it's not working.
