  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

cgi-fcgi or FastCGI?

Thomas Becker

Basic Pleskian
Hello,
I installed Dolphin 7 from Boonex and then recognized that Dolphin 7 is giving some optimization suggestions like that:
php setup = cgi-fcgi - WARNING (your PHP setup maybe very inefficient, please check it for sure and try to switch to mod_php, apache dso module or FastCGI)

I'm not sure what is exactly the difference between cgi-fcgi and FastCGI. I thought that PHP is running as FastCGI because in the dropdown menu in Plesk you can select "FastCGI-Application".

Can someone please shed light on the dark?
Thanks.

Running Plesk 10.4.4 on CentOS 6 with PHP 5.3

I guess their text suggesting CGI or FastCGI mode of PHP. Both are supported by Plesk. I would recommend to use FastCGI
