  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Change DNS to point Mail to other server. Website stays.

New Pleskian
Hello,

I have a domain on my server and I want the MAIL only to go to another server (Not ours).

What are the entries that I remove from the current DNS and what do I add to make this happen.

I have the MX entries (There are 3) that I was told to add, but I want to make sure I remove
the correct ones from the DNS as well and is there anything else I need to add?

Any help would be terrific!

Thanks

MS

Ensure the ONLY MX records you have in your DNS server are those for the server you are routing email to.

Hello,

ok thanks...what about the A records and Cname records...do I just delete all of those so the only entries for the mail are the 3 new mx records?

Just want to be clear so I don't mess it Up.

Many Thanks

MS

MX records are responsible for the routing of email while the rest of the records are for the opening of your website. If you are hosting the website locally, then perhaps leave the A records intact but only change the MX records.
