• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Clarification on use of Plesk Migration Manager Utility

I would like to move domains hosted on a Windows 2003/iis 6 server to Plesk 8.6. The source server DOES NOT have a hosting platform.

Can the Migration Manager be used for such a migration?

I have read the Migration Manager's Admin guide. It has a section titled "Control Panel-Independent Migration From IIS-Based Web Servers", suggesting that the migration can be done independently of a control panel, but the section itself specifies that it's possible to move sites hosted on servers using other control panels.

My guess is that the Migration Manager won't work without a host platform.

Can someone confirm for me if it is possible to use this utility to migrate sites from a server that has no hosting platform.

If not, is there some way of doing this (short of the manual drudgery of creating the sites, users, etc., and migrating the data and settings)?
