  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question CloudLinux 9 support

At this time there is not ETA for Cloudlinux 9. For your strategy, your long-term planning it will probably be best to stay with Cloudlinux 8, if you prefer Cloudlinux over other operating systems. If you are thinking about another operating system, either Alma 8 or Alma 9 can be good choices, too. Cloudlinux 9 is built on Alma 9, but at the moment, Plesk does not support all features when it is installed on Alma 9. Chances are that there will be a long wait until support for Cloudlinux 9 is added.

If you have great arguments why Plesk should support Cloudlinux 9, please post a Uservoice request here: Feature Suggestions: Top (1814 ideas) – Your Ideas for Plesk . Let us know, why you think that CL 9 is the big thing of the future.

Any news about Cloudlinux 9 ?
Are you thinking of support it one day ? (thats a yes/no question, and will affect the OS of the next server)

At cloudfest a 3rd party suggested that if customer requests keep at the current (low) level, its going to take at least another year before CL9 will be supported- if it will be supported at all. @Peter Debik could you please comment?

As the demand is very low, I do not expect CL 9 to be supported soon. It is realistic that the earliest estimate for consideration of CL 9 support is 2025, and from there it might still take a while until it is actually supported.

I'll be honest - I'm shocked to hear that demand for CL9 and Plesk is so low. I've used this combination for years and have found it to be great and had been hoping to jump my CL7 servers to CL9 without going to CL8 in the meantime. I guess it begs the question - what are people using instead of CL?

I also added a suggestion to Uservoice. Please vote for it if you too are wanting Plesk CL9 support ...

It's bizarre that plesk isn't supporting AlmaLinux 9! Active Support for AlmaLinux ends THIS MONTH and Security support ends in just 4 years, 10 months so why bother with AlmaLinux 8 at all and just go to AlmaLinux 9.

Frankly, I put it down to laziness on Plesk's part and a desire to not spend money despite increasing prices a fair bit over the past 2 years. It's your job to support the OS that we are using and will use.

This is utterly ridiculous.

No one is voting because no one in their right mind would think they have to vote to see support for CloudLinux to continue.

No one is voting because it involves creating yet another login, when they've already got 4 or 5 for various Plesk systems!

There's going to be a lot of people shocked to find out CL9 isn't supported when they realise their CL8 boxes are running down their lifetime.

No one in their right mind is going to go from CL7 to CL8 right now when CL9 has been out for fast approaching 2 years!

We had to revert back to Almalinux8 in a new server, because CloudLinux is a must. I cannot think of another way to run plesk securely without CloudLinux :(

Hello, everyone. Adding support for CloudLinux 9 to Plesk is planned for Q1 of 2025. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any precise date at this point. We will provide more information as soon as possible.

If anyone hasn't seen it yet, its been announced that support for CloudLinux 9 will be introduced at the beginning of March

I'm 20% relieved and still 80% annoyed that its taken this long with CentOS 7 going EOL mid last year. Better late than never I guess ...

I installed Almalinux 9 with Plesk, and then I installed CloudLinux 9 on top of the AlmaLinux image.

Everything installed, but MySQL Governor does not work correctly. It appears installed, but it does not run. The message: The MySQL administrator is disabled on the system keeps appearing. Please run service db_governor restart to start the service

I have tried everything, but MySQL Governor does not work correctly in Plesk with CloudLinux 9
