Coldfusion on Plesk

Greetings!!

Has anyone successfully used CF on Plesk 8.1? We are currently running a Coldfusion server with no panel, but thinking of moving over to a Plesk box with Coldfusion support. Do you think thats a better option or to stick to simple CF server. Also whether Plesk 8.1 supports earlier version of CF too.

Plesk 8.1 support ColdFusion MX 7. However Plesk does not support ColdFusion DSN and Sandbox. If you don't need it then you could move ColdFusion over to Plesk.

I'll be specific in here. Does Plesk 7.6 or 8.1 supports Coldfusion 5. Also are there any performance/technical issues running Coldfusion on Plesk in comparison to Coldfusion on non-panel windows server.

Massive Troubles with Coldfusion and 8.1

Hello, I have been having massive troubles with coldfusion mx and plesk 8.1

plesk was throwing up username and password windows once CF was installed, Server surgin was unable to get it working after 2 attempted installs’, netregistry where unable to get it working after 2 attempted installs, and these guys are experts in there field.

I am seriously considering a different control panel. its been over a week and no one can get plesk 8.1 with Coldfusion MX working.

Any one else having these problems?

If you have installed ColdFusion (or other 3rd-party hosting script) after Plesk you should
- either reset permissions via Reconfigurator (before it you should Refresh components registration on page Plesk > Server > Components Management)
- or remove Deny entries from ACL of ColdFusion installation folder recursively
- or set permissions on this folder manually in according to security config file <plesk>\admin\bin\DiskSecurity.xml

You should use Reconfigurator's option "Correct disk permissions"

Plesk 8.1 coldfusion Not working

I tried the reset disk permisions and refresh components, still no luck, I am having the same trouble as the guy on this thred:

php, asp, asp.net, perl, and python test DON'T work, thay are all turned on for the domain.

Is there some one I can Pay at swsoft to fix the problem and make sure the plesk install is optimal?

Plesk turns off anonymouse access for domain test site pages because mail page can be used by spammers.
You should (1) use domain ftp account credentials to browse test site pages, or (2) find virtual directory "test" via Web Directories and turn on aninymouse access

CF plesk 8.1

looks like I am making progress, so when you preview a site the test pages dont work because you have to login witht he ftp details to view the pages. I uploaded php and cfm pages and they seem to be working fine.

I was assuming that because the test pages where not working, then the php,cf etc components where not working also.

from my tests so far, cf and plesk are wrking ok. thanks for your help

Well what it seems is that there is no issues as such, but some missing steps which leads to issues. And on top of that, those still can be taken care of; thanks to Sergius in here

It is painfull that when you set up a hosting slot that you get pop up security problems when trying to click on the php, asp, coldfusion buttons, there shoud be some text saying that the buttons wont work unless you log in with the ftp details.
