  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi,

Can i install the csf firewall on plesk 9.3? OR will it break something?

I've read that is designed to work with cpanel...

Thanks, but this thread tells nothing about plesk + csf compatibility

It is not testsed third-party software and you can install it on own risk. Why you do not use internal Plesk firewall module instead?

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

I'm looking for a dos protection system, as i've detected with the watchdog lots of ssh and ftp attempts. I'm currently using the apf + bfd scripts to block brute force attacks, but i see they are a bit limited and i've read that csf is great stopping those attacks...

Does the plesk firewall module contain brute force, dos and ddos prevention mecanisms?

Plesk FW is a very basic firewall. There are others that are more powerful, more "active", in protecting the server, such as APF and ConfigServer. But these don't have Plesk integration, only cPanel.
