Customizing Featured Applications

How can I customize the list of featured applications which appear to the user in the control panel.

It is online Application Catalog. Not sure that it is possible.

I dont want to modify the catalog.
I want to modify just the "Featured Applications " list. See attached image.
How can I modify the "Featured Applications" list?

I managed to do this a while back, I think by editing MySQL directly. I can't remember exactly how. Not obvious anyway.
