  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Debian 6 (Squeeze) stable

Is there any good and up-to-date migration doc ? what are steps in migrating from Debian 5 ( 10.1) to Debian 6 ( 10.2)
any important software upgrade is generally documented ( RELEASE UPGRADE DOC)
1 - backup Plesk 10.1 data=> what do we need to back up ? ( doc ? )
2 - update Debian 5=> 6 , cool well documented ... it's an update so what will happen to Plesk files ?
3 - install Plesk 10.2 (final)
4 - restore Plesk data into Plesk 10.2 ( doc ? )

JessicaS., I guess you must be on quite old OS if newer version of Plesk doesn't support it - normally we EOL OS only after it is EOLed by its vendor.

As Plesk 10.2 supports Debian 5 as well, it is quite okay to upgrade to 10.2 and keep the same OS. If the current OS is obsoleted, the best way is to install a new box - with new OS and new Plesk and then perform migration there. The migration process is well documented here. The upcoming Plesk 10.3 (early preview available) includes migration of server-wide settings in addition to content (domains, mailboxes, etc) which makes migration easier.
