• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Default mail settings for new domains

Pat6218

New Pleskian
Hi, is there a way to default the 'Activate mail service on this domain' setting to 'off' when a new domain is created? We've been hit a couple of times with issues arising from the webserver attempting to deliver mail internally

Thanks

Hi Pat6218,

Have you tried to create a Service Plan and setting "Switch on the mail service" off? After that, every subscription which is created in that Service Plan will not have that check active
You can also modify an existing Service Plan, change the option from On to Off and then, Update & sync

Note that new settings will not be applied to existing subscriptions, if:

- A subscriptions is locked from syncing with its service plan.
- The Ability to change mail settings permission is enabled in service plan permissions settings (Service Plans > Example Plan > Permissions tab > Click Show more available permissions to reveal).
