  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Document Root?

Hello,

Is it possible to change the DocumentRoot of an existing website so that it is considered as home directory and everything within httpdocs is no longer accessible via the domain?

I only want to change this for some of my websites and NOT set it as default.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. A quick & simple option within your Plesk Panel, is to create a sub-directory (File Manager) within httpdocs. Then use that sub-directory as your 'public' home directory by specifying it, in that domain's Hosting Settings. The two images show an example using a sub_directory called public_html but you can use whatever name you want obviously. Don't forget to review your "Custom error documents" setting in Hosting Settings and to setup your 'public' home directory as you would a 'normal' public home directory / root.

Hello,

Thank you very much, only the Custom-ErrorPages point is not yet clear to me, what needs to be changed there and where when I customize the DocumentRoot?

Furthermore I wanted to create the new DocumentRoot within httpdocs, so I don't think the ErrorPages has to be changed?

Thanks
