  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Does the 10.x license work on the 11.5 version of Plesk Panel?

Hi,

I have been planning to purchase Plesk Panel License from a reseller and to check out its features, I have installed the Plesk Panel 11.5 on my server. I have managed to configure it a lot with the help of experts on this forum. I still have about 20 days of Trial period to play around with Plesk. I just found out that the version of Plesk Panel being given out by the Reseller is 10.x (not sure if it is 10.0 or 10.5). I told them that I had installed 11.5 already on my servers. However, their customer support assures me that I can purchase this license and it would still work on the 11.5. Is that true? I wouldn't want to start everything from scratch.

Did you purchase Lease (Monthly) or Perpetual license?

Most resellers would sell Lease and all Lease licenses of Plesk 10 will work for Plesk 11.5 (they will upgrade/convert automatically).
Perpetual (paid once) licenses have a concept of SUS (Software Update Services) which can be 1 year or sometimes 2 year maybe. The SUS defines period of time you can upgrade to another version. My understanding is that you purchased the license recently, so SUS is supposed to be valid for you.

Even if something goes wrong with the license, it shall not ruin you server. At the worst case scenario, you will need to obtain new license and re-apply it. Or you can always rollback to previously used license (if not expired).

Regards

Thank you, Sergey. That does clear up a lot of things. I believe it is a Lease License as I have to pay monthly for it. I'll go ahead and check it out. Thank you. :)
