• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Domain Aliases for Subdomains

Hi,

I am in the process of migrating various websites from individual cPanel-based shared hosting accounts to a Plesk environment.

We have the following setup on the existing system, which was very easy to create using cPanel. But I am struggling to work out how to do this with Plesk.

Basically I need to create a subdomain and then give it an alias.

In other words, I need to create the following behaviour on the Plesk system.

We have two domains - lets call them domain1.com and domain2.co.uk.

Within domain1.com we have a subdomain called sub.domain1.com.

If someone puts sub.domain1.com into their browser, they see the contents of domain1.com/sub.

That is the first thing I need to know how to achieve in Plesk please - i.e. for sub.domain1.com to automatically route to www.domain1.com/sub.

Our existing configuration also means that if someone goes to www.domain2.co.uk then they get redirected to sub.domain1.com. At all times, the address www.domain2.co.uk is what's shown in the browser bar.

Anyone know how to do this on Plesk please?

Thanks in advance,
Dave.
