  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello all, I have a problem with Qmail when I try to create a new Domain.

I searched on the forum previously but there are no threads who explain how to solve it ! So, sorry if I didn't find the solution.

So when I want to create a new Domain there is an error :

Failed domain creation: Unable to update domain data: Failed mail post-configuration: Can't create mail domain servie: mailManager->addDomain() failed: mailmng failed: mailmng: No such file '/etc/init.d/qmail': No such file or directory
System error 2: No such file or directory

0: /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/domains/create_domain.php:162

I don't undestand the problem : Qmail can be find at /etc/rc.d/init.d/

Can someone help me ?
PS : sorry for my english, I am French

Nobody to help me ? I know I'm boring but I just would know how to reinstall qmail on init.d or how to solve it.

What OS are you running? /etc/init.d/qmail is part of the psa-qmail package on our CentOS machines.

It looks like there is a problem with your installation then. The psa-qmail package provides /etc/init.d/qmail, but apparently your system does not have that file? What does rpm -q psa-qmail return? And rpm -V psa-qmail?

Hello, thank you for your help.

[~]# rpm -q psa-qmail
=>
psa-qmail-1.03-cos5.build83071218.18

[~]# rpm -V psa-qmail
=>
missing c /etc/init.d/qmail
.M....G. /var/qmail/bin/mm_wrapper
SM5....T /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local
.M...... /var/qmail/bin/qmail-local.plesk
SM5..U.T /var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue
.M...... /var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue.plesk

......G. /var/qmail/control/dhparam512.pem
......G. /var/qmail/control/smtpplugins

As you can see rpm also reports /etc/init.d/qmail as missing. I don't know what caused that file to disappear, but you might want to try reinstalling the psa-qmail package.

Ok, that's the problem, I have no idea how to install it again.
The installation seems to be specific with plesk (I think).
Do you have a link that explains how to ? Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I have installed Qmail with packages missing. It works fine now.
