domain name for MAILER-Daemon

JuanCar

Regular Pleskian
I've just changed the server name in Plesk but MAILER-DAEMON send me messages from the old server name MAILER-DAEMON@old.server.name (yes, with the name has three parts)

Is there ane way tho change the domain for MAILER-DAEMON@ so it sends mails from my actual server name

Thanks

Hi JuanCar,

if you didn't edit the mail - server configurations manually, then they are normally getting the server - name from "hostname" and/or "hosts" - both located at "/etc/". Please check, if both files got your changes right.
You should consider restarting the complete server, because several services look for either one of these files in order to work as expected.

Example for "/etc/hostname" :

server1.example.com

Example for "/ect/hosts" :

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX server1.example.com server1

Where XXX... should be replaced with your OWN IP for the fully qualified domain name ( FQDN ). Please make sure, that a reverse DNS entry exists at your primary nameserver.
