• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Doubts regarding Plesk 12.5 backup

Nilton Santos

Basic Pleskian
Hi, I have some questions:

What is the local disk space required for backup even when configuring Plesk to send backup to an external FTP account?

After completing the transfer of the backup files to the external FTP area, should plesk keep any of these backup files locally?

For example, we have a server with pesk 12.5 that even after the completion of the backup to external FTP keep files locally in the folder:
/var/lib/psa/dumps/domains/domain.com.br/backup_user-data_2701031556.tgz

What is the file date of these files? Plesk normally only keeps files on the local host if FTP failed.

Hi Peter,

Yes, are ocurring fails during backup as below, and files are not deleted from local disk:

That is not a bug, it is a feature. When the FTP transfer fails, the files are kept locally. Else you would not have any backup.

Ok Peter,

Can you help me about the error below:
