  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Dovecot without pop

Papalapappi

New Pleskian
Hey folks, first post here so let’s try ;)

I run a VPS as a Mailserver for me and m family with almost everything set up fine

But I don’t need Pop at all. I found the Dovecot configuration files but every file states something like this:

#DO NOT MODIFY THIS FILE BECAUSE IT WAS GENERATED AUTOMATICALLY,
#SO ALL YOUR CHANGES WILL BE LOST THE NEXT TIME THE FILE IS GENERATED

So how to disable pop? (POP3 and POP3s)

I just know how to edit the Dovecot.conf to disable pop. But if these changes gets revoked it’s kinda senseless

Try to use following method:

# echo "protocols = imap" > /etc/dovecot/conf.d/00-pop3-disable.conf
# systemctl restart dovecot
