  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Enable lz4 compression on Dovecot

Antonio J

New Pleskian
Good morning. Good morning,

I have been reviewing and observing the possibility of enabling lz4 compression in Dovecot through the zlib plugin.

My question is this: Is there a possibility to enable this in Plesk?
If so, could someone give me some kind of hint to get me started?

Thank you in advance for your help.

A greeting!

Officially it is not supported in Plesk. But you can try to experiment with it. You can try to enable it with modifying line

Code:
protocols = imap pop3

protocol imap {
  mail_plugins = $mail_plugins imap_quota
}

with

Code:
protocols = imap pop3

protocol imap {
  mail_plugins = $mail_plugins imap_quota zlib
}

in file /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf and create file /etc/dovecot/conf.d/95-plesk-plugin.conf with content like:

Code:
plugin {
  zlib_save_level = 6
  zlib_save = lz4
}

After that restart dovecot service and check that it works.
To be honest I'm not sure that it will work correctly. But you can consider it as just direction and perform further tests and tuning by yourself and share your results here :)
