  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Enabling process accounting on VM

KwerriK

New Pleskian
Hello,

I would like to enable process accounting on our VPS which runs on OpenVZ so that I can more easily detect issues on the VPS.

To this end, I have installed the psacct tool.

Unfortunately, when I try to start the tool by running

service psacct start

I get the following error:

Starting process accounting: accton: Operation not permitted
[FAILED]

I have searched the internet, and it turns out that OpenVZ does not allow process accounting by default, and it needs to be enabled via the machine that is hosting the VM.

The only interface I have to the host machine is the Parallels UI; can someone explain how I would turn on process accounting from there?

Unfortunately this isn't something you can do yourself.

Your VPS provider would need to make the change, assuming they are willing to do so and are using the required versions of everything.
