• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Enabling "Web Deploy Publishing" for existing domains

Mike Legg

Basic Pleskian
We have installed the "Web Deployment Tools" and Plesk is detecting this.

But the option is only being made available for newly created domains.

We've enabled "Web Deploy Publishing" in one of our packages, but when we assign that package to an existing domain the option "Web Deploy publishing" is not being enabled.

How can we enable "Web Deploy Publishing" for existing domains?

Hello,

I'd like to start using the Web Deployment tools as well. Did you find a solution for this issue?

Please let me know and thanks!

We had to install the following packages using Web platform installers -

Web deployment tool 2.1
Web deployment tool 2.1 for hosting servers

We also restarted Plesk and IIS. However a server reboot was also needed in our case to make existing domains recognise the Web Deploy Publishing option.

Thanks For The Update

I have one more quick question if you don't mind; did you install it via Windows Remote Desktop or did you use some sort of Plesk function? Or both?

Please let me know and thanks!

I'll give it a go!
