• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Found a bug - and the solution. To whomever this may help.

When you install Plesk 12.0.18 with only PHP 5.5 and/or PHP 5.4 but not the older versions on Windows, you can run Web Presence Builder in trial mode from the test URL that you find in the settings (Tools & Settings > Try and Buy Mode Settings). But whenever you try to run it on an actual subscription, you get the following error:

Error: For editing sites with Presence Builder, the hosting account must support PHP version 5.0 or later.

Obviously the first thing to check is if PHP is enabled for the subscription, but having it enabled does not make a difference. The solution is to go to Tools & Settings > Updates and upgrades and install PHP 5.3 and 5.2. As soon as you have done that, Web Presence Builder will also work from a subscription, even if for the subscription a later version of PHP is selected. But the older versions still need to be present on the system in order for WPB to work from a subscription.

I guess there is an explicit check by Plesk for the presence of PHP 5.2 or 5.3.

Regs,
Andor
