  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Extension Manager Missing - Can't install Extensions after upgrade

Bebber

New Pleskian
After successfully update from 17.5 to 17.8 I'm not able to install custom extension anymore
Actually, I can't find an extension manager menu too but if I manually choose path "modules/catalog/index.php/catalog/featured", choose an extension to install, and then try installing itself
I get a strange message:
Error: Task 'install' is not registered.
Extensions like Let's encrypt or Advisor (installed via Component) works well.
Does anyone have an idea on how to get Extension manager working again?
(did my search on kb but found a similar issue just for windows)
Thanks a lot

Thank you s much for the reply!
I tried it, problem persists (it's strange cause if I manually upload an extension it works)
Looked at repair logs and found just this WARNING messages:

I really don't know if it's related,

I have the exact same issue with the disappearing extension manager on linux, though after the upgrade the extension manager was there and i looked it though a few minutes later it was gone.
I've tried "plesk repair installation" and a server reboot but no luck so far, also no errors in the repair logs.

Hello

Well this should be reported as bug Important - PLEASE FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION IF YOU BELIEVE THAT FOUND A BUG!
it seems to hit more and more Issue - Extension manager lost.

To help the developer it is always helpful to give as mutch information to them migrated from Version (Plesk & OS) -> Version (Plesk & OS)
@IgorG - will you guide them?

For my interests does the comand on CLI still works like
Code:
# plesk bin extension -l

If someone of you have this issue on a non productiv Server - non critical domains on it can try for example this - the path is from a Centos7 Server and might be different on you system:
Code:
# plesk bin extension -i /usr/local/psa/var/ext-catalog.zip
otherwise wait for Plesk guidance or better ideas

I can confirm, that the CLI command works.
It wasn't an upgrade or migration on our side. It was a normal update from Plesk.

Kind regards
Henning

We often have problems with Plesk transition updates.

i have the same problems as Mark@beeldr.

OS : Cent OS 6.8 (64 Bit)

80% of extensions do not work with update

example

(D)DOS Deflate Interface (Plesk)
Linux Malware Detect Manager (Plesk)

I also had troubles with LMD, but AFAIK they're actually working to make the extension compatible with 17.8

I love plesk panel I've been using it for 10 years. But the updates are really messy. it is very tiring to do a zero install on major updates and re-install 50 web sites. hope these problems will improve over time
