• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Fresh Install "Access to the destination folder is forbidden." File Sharing

Lucius0101

New Pleskian
Hello! I'm new to the forum, so maybe that's a newbie question.

I am trying to set up File Sharing, however when uploading a file, the error message appears: "Unable to upload the files: Access to the destination folder is forbidden".

When looking for possible solutions, I found this link, so I decided to create a new subdomain with nothing inside, and configure File Sharing on it, but also without success.

  • OS: ‪Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS‬
  • Product: Plesk Obsidian 18.0.25

Can help me please?

I would recommend doing the sharing over Nextcloud or Seafile for example as the file sharing from Plesk is planned to be removed soon:

You would be wasting time setting all up now.

Can you check the ModSecurity log if it is enabled? It could also be blocking it and causing such error.
