  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

FTP Problem - Connection established, waiting for welcome message..

Helen Pang

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

The FTP is working fine since we setup the Plesk Linux 9.5 but it's not working suddenly. It shows the below message when we tried to connect:

Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server

We've checked the firewall setting, there's nothing wrong with it, we don't made any changes on it as well. We've restarted the Apache but still not working.

Any idea or suggestions?

Thanks.

Did you tried to check that port 21 is open with

lsof -i tcp:21

for example?
Did you tried connect to FTP server with telnet, for example?

Yes, our support has fixed it by changing the Plesk Linux server Network DNS to another IP, then it's worked. It's kind of weird as it's working fine all these whiles, just out of sudden, all servers are not working as it can't resolve the DNS IP address. Any idea what it caused to the DNS functional problem?

Thanks.
