• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

general folder?

JohanSki

Basic Pleskian
Hi guys,

I'm still reading documentation about Plesk to learn more about it. So far it looks good!

I have a simple question. Let's say I have a "general folder" where my cms/framework files are located, for example:

/var/www/cms

Can any domain access this folder?

Let's say I have this domain:

/var/www/vhosts/somesite.com/httpdocs/

Can "/var/www/vhosts/somesite.com/httpdocs/index.php" include "/var/www/cms/index.php"?

Well it looks like as a simple question for you , but indeed this is not the general usage of Plesk, therefore I assume there wont many quick replays/answers... To answer your question I would say might be possible, because I did something simular in the past. To be sure - why do you not install the trail Version on a Server or virtual maschine and just test it.

kind regards
Brujo

Thanks for your reply Brujo. I thought it was some basic stuff, since I assume that people who use a framework/cms do not install this framework/cms for each individual domain. I'll look into it a bit further then.

Other reactions are still welcome...!
