• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Going insane with open_basedir probs

gwnet

New Pleskian
Vers: Plesk 8.2.1 for Redhat ES

Problem: Trying to set a directory for a php application that is a second hard drive mounted as /home2 I get: Warning: is_dir(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home2/) is not within the allowed path(s)

Ok, i've been going in circles trying various vhost configurations.... whenever I try what is recommended (many iterations, many many different forums) i get the following error when trying to get plesk to reload / rewrite the config file:

[root]# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/websrvmng -v -a
Syntax error on line 1 of /home/httpd/vhosts/domain/conf/vhost.conf:
/home/httpd/vhosts/domain/conf/vhost.conf:1: <Directory> was not closed.
websrvmng: Service /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd failed to gracefully restart
websrvmng: Service /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd failed to gracefully restart

This is one iteration of the vhost file contents:

<Directory /home/httpd/vhosts/jon.info/httpdocs>
php_admin_value open_basedir "/home/httpd/vhosts/domain/httpdocs:/tmp:/home2"
</Directory>

Does anyone have a definitive solution? I've tried the KB article exact solution, but still doesn't work.... same error...

TIA!!!!!!!!

Jon.
