• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Help Emails loop back to original servers address

TomGeo

New Pleskian
Hi i have 2 different servers one with Plesk 11.5. and one new just installed Plesk 12.0, the 12.0 will not send emails out but i get them back to the inbox of the outgoing server. is there a fix for this as i have tried both postfix and qmail to send out emails all with the same result.

It seems that something has changed from version 11.5 to 12.

The plesk configuration is installed on Debian 7.7 OS

Thanks

Hi thanks for replying, but i am not an expert on the command line i tried to get the log files with this command /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog with no success is there another way to get them as i am not trying to waist anyones time, i am trying to solve a problem that didn't exist in version 11.5, basically. I and eventually who ever will help me ARE trying to find out a Bug on the new version, that should be solved by now from parallels support staff, (this started a few month ago in Sept i think and its WAY to long to exist)

:)

Hi TomGeo,

what makes you think, that there is any bug? There could be misconfigurations, operating system failures/issues, non-compatible packages and wrong or missing libraries and all these things might have nothing to do with Plesk. Due to the case that I administrate several Debian / Ubuntu - operated servers and all these servers have no issues that you described, I doubt, that this is a Plesk - bug.

The symlink at "/usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog" normally links to the OS specific mail - log, located at "/var/log/*", but when you updated from Plesk 11.5 it might be the case, that it was not updated properly within any previous update/upgrade/patch. Please have a manual look at "/var/log" and adjust the symlink manually to the one on YOUR system. Such misconfiguations can happen from time to time and are caused by unfinished updates/upgrades/patches. Normally such misconfiguation - issues are as well documented in the depending updates/upgrade/patch - logs at "/var/log/plesk-install" and/or "/var/log/plesk/install".

Plesk itself just making things easier for admins, but it does not replace an admin and his/her work.

Hi i am 100% Sure that there us a bug with this Version 12.0, i have not updated one server from 11.5 to 12.0 for that reason,, i have 2 Different servers, one with Version 11.5 running and not updated as will probably loose the ability to send emails, anyway, the second server has a new install of 12.0, and that is the one that either Qmail or Postfix is not running ( well they do run but i get all the emails back to my servers address). So since with version 11.5 i didn't not have that problem, and with 12.0 i DO there is definitely a Bug (in this Version) that no one has seen or has seen and have not fixed yet.

Thanks for replying though, how can i access the maillog what command do i have to type in the command line, if you can answer to this i can send you the output so you can see the problem, thats if you are available to help me with this issue..

Thanks in advance
Tom Geo
