  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello

I'm running a windows 2003 standard IIS server with plesk 7.6, and yesterday without any warning plesk just stopped working, well not exactly stopped working, the site is working fine and all e-mails OK, everything just fine except that the control panel is not working, so when I tried:

https://localhost:8443 (nothing happened, just IE asks for confirmation if I want to continue to SSL link then try to connect and nothing happened)

https://my.domain.com:8443 (same as above)

https://my.IP:8443 (same as above)

everything working but just the control panel won't open, I have checked the permission and all ok, I also tried to repair using the installation file and same not working, I tried finally to update windows and nothing same too, and checked and restored old backup of my php.ini and still not working, ok I accept my fate that I need to reinstall windows incase there are no solutions, anyway as you can see the control panel is not working, so any way that I can backup my databases before formatting my system??????

Please ASAP, it's very urgent

Thank in adance for your help:( :rolleyes:

I have the exact same problem. All websites work, all emails work and most everything can be managed from the server, but the Plesk Control Panel does not come up.

Please provide us more information.
are you using dedicated server or VPS ?
also , does Plesk is working under IIS or apache ?

@bcampea

It's driving me crazy, just started by it self, haven't installed any program, tried nearly everything but nothing works

@igoldman

I'm running a dedicated server with IIS

I am also running a dedicated server with IIS and Apache. I use The Planet as my host. The most recent thing I installed was Crystal Reports Server XI R2. I have MailEnable Pro 2.3x running as well.

Problem Solved

Hi guys

I solved the problem, it's very sample, I was messing up with IIS and I found the reason why Plesk is not running.

First go to IIS manager, open websites then right click on PleskControlPanel and select (properties) and click on (Home Directory) tab then set the application pool to (MSSharePointAppPool) and here you go, Plesk is running like magic.

hope this will work for you too bcampea.

:) :)

My Plesk is finally back up and running. Here is the response I received from The Planet on what they did to fix it:

This was caused by the version of PHP running Plesk being changed to PHP 5.0.5. However, the cURL module was not updated along with it. I have replaced the php_curl module with the PHP 5.0.5 version, and Plesk is properly loading at this time.
