• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hosted websites down after update to 8.1

Phil Wareham

New Pleskian
Hello there,
I have just upgraded to 8.1, however now all our hosted websites are inaccessible from a browser and return the following message:

"Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Email still seems to work and I can connect to them via FTP fine. Everything seemed to be working OK when I was using 8.0.1. Anyone got any ideas what's wrong?
Cheers, Phil

Working Now

Hi there,
The virtual host information was missing from httpd.conf after the update to 8.1. Simply disabling and then enabling each website we host within the plesk control panel forced it to rewrite the relevant sections of the httpd.conf file. Now all it works fine again (fortunately we only host 16 sites so it was quite a quick fix).
FYI my operating system is CentOS 3.6.
Cheers,
Phil
