How do i configure relay ?

Hello,
I would like to configure my server so that it can be used as relay.

I did the following :
1- I created a new entry in the DNS configuration: mail.domainname.com A xx.xx.xx.xx (the ip address of the destination server)

2- In Server-wide mail preferences, i checked relaying, authorization is required for POP3

3- In whiteliste I added the IP address of the destination server with mask 8

Is it correcte, or should I configure more parameters ? If yes, what parameters i should configure ?

Please clarify if I understand properly:

You have a hosted domain on your server, they are using an external mail server (not on your server) and you wish for their emails to be 'relayed' to the other mail server.
