Resolved how to update MariaDB from 10.1 to 10.2?

how to update mariadb 10.1 to 10.2?

Hi , I have centOS 7 , Plesk 17.5.3 , and currently i have MariaDB 10.1.22, and I am attempting to update it to 10.2.7

I was googling around, found few tutorial , but which is not exactly my case , because the instructions I found was about how to replace mysql with mariadb , but I have already had mariadb.

I have already tried 2 ways , but none of them succeed.

1. by set mariadb repo to 10.2.7 , and use "yum update", the yum reports mariadb was updated to 10.2.7 , but in plesk it still shows 10.1.22

2. I tried to uninstall 10.1.22 first , and install 10.2.7 afterward, which I did , no error encountered, but in plesk still shows 10.1.22

any help please...

Pls. go again to:

=> HOME > Tools & Settings > Database Servers

Now pls. CLICK onto the "Hostname" of your desired database server, which opens a new page, where you just confirm again your settings with a CLICK onto the button "ok".
You will be redirected to "HOME > Tools & Settings > Database Servers" and you will notice, that the version is now being displayed according to your actual installed version at your server. :)
 
I would like to add to this that 10.2 is not supported by Plesk and is causing some issues at least with the plesk database repair tool.

hmmmmm , could you please be more specific about "issues" ?

if 10.2 is not support , how about mysql 5.6 or 5.7 ?

thanks , that's really stupid of me...

after yum update mariadb , do i need to run something like "mysqlupdate" or something like that ?
