• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

HOWTO: Fix problem with Dr. Web Updates

hgtech@

New Pleskian
Those of you running Plesk 7.0.3 on Windows and you use Dr. Web that came with Plesk for AV software, you might want to check the DrWebUpW.log file located in the c:\program files\swsoft\plesk\drweb folder on your server.

As of the 19th of January, something changed in the signature that Dr. Web uses when validating users for updates. This caused Dr. Web to cease updating. The log entries will look something like the following:

2005-01-20, 17:00:56 Dr.Web® Update for Windows 95-XP v4.32b

If you have this problem, the fix I came up with is simple. Download this file (I'll be nice and share) - http://www.hgtech.net/patches/drwpatch.zip - extract, and overwrite the existing file (upload.drl) in the c:\program files\swsoft\plesk\drweb directory on your server.

Next, to verify its working and force a download of the latest updates, run drwebupw.exe from the same folder. Click on the big "update now" button to make sure everything is working properly.

I restarted the DrWebCom service from the Plesk Control Panel after I was done, but I don't think it was necessary.

I tried to go to that link but I was unable to do resolve to that file. Can you make that active again so I can download it? My DrWeb Update is not working and I am still on 7.0.3. Thank you!

I have moved from Plesk 7.0.3 and no longer have the patch. Here's how I got the file though:

Download and install Dr.Web on your computer (not your web server). You can do this from their website.

Update it to the latest virus definitions.

Copy the file upload.drl from your computer to your web server in the directory I specified in the previous post.

Hope this helps.
