• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question License question

New Pleskian
As a new user of Plesk it is not clear to me if after the trial period the license reverts to the se version or simply locks me out?

That is such a really interesting question that I posted it to the licencing team, because I would like to know that myself. I'll post a response here once I got it. As of now I think that it auto-revetts to SE, because that is the default bundle on some platforms, but I have never tested that.

No worries, you did it perfectly right. It's always better to post something at all, and there is no specific "licencing" section here.

According to the licencing team when your commercial licence expires you'll be blocked from using Plesk, but there seem to be some functions that remain in place, e.g. rolling back to the previous licence key (https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/administrator-guide/plesk-administration/plesk-licensing/rolling-back-to-your-previously-used-license-key.59470/). If that does not help, you can ask at http://www.plesk.com/licensing-and-purchase-support/ for assistance. Plesk staff is always very helpful, so please feel free to ask there if you need help.

So obviously what's not happening is that a commercial licence reverts to a "free" small licence. I hope that answers your question.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this for me, I do appreciate it. I will try contacting the support folks. Being new to Plesk and working a lot, 15 days will not be enough time for me to judge if I want to spend the monthly fee . I cant seem to find a way to install the SE version on my own as it appears on the surface to be only something they make available to certain VPS hosting providers.
