  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

License Question

Hi

I currently have a Plesk 7.5.3 server running on Fedora Core 2. We have an active SUS.

The server is failing and I need to replace it.

Im intending on getting a new server and installing Plesk 8.1 onto it and then gradually migrate all the domains from the 7.5.3 server.

I dont want to purchase a new license as the original server will be trashed once I have moved everyone across.

My question is will using my current license key work ok on the plesk 8.1 server and coexist (for a short time possibly 2 weeks) with the 7.5.3 server?

Ive emailed sw-soft about this but had no response.

Thanks

Paul

Hello,

Set up the new server and ask SWsoft for a temp key for PSA8(.1) which you can temporarily install on the new box. With active SUS you can easily upgrade your PSA 7.5 key using the Plesk License Upgrader or through Sales.
