• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

lighthttpd and plesk 10

Is there a way to install lighthttpd to run alongside plesk 10? Simple question :) I hope the answer is also somewhat simple (and not a no)

For what? JFYI, Plesk service sw-cp-swerfice is modified lighthttpd.

Well I'm kinda new to all the handlers and such (the entire dedicated thing) so i was hoping lighthttpd would give me a speed boost that i need (lot of images and dynamic content) and that it would sorta fix the permission issues that i am having (currently somewhat fixed)

If you mean using lighthttpd for sites hosting - it is impossible. Only Apache can be used for site hosting in Plesk.

I see. Ok. And that service you were talking about... can that work in my favor? Is it running by default?

sw-cp-server is modified by Parallels lighhttpd and it is used for administrative Plesk Panel operation (internal purposes and interface) and can't be used for hosting purposes.
