This is complicated so let me set this up so you can understand it:
1. Assume there is a message in the outgoing queue from an on-server user, xyz@domain-on-server.com. The message is sent to 200 recipients, included among these recipients are 111@recip1.com, 222@recip2.com and 333@recip3.com. The message has a large attachment (400 MB) that obviously is rejected by many ISPs.
2. Now, I happen to send an email to xyz@domain-on-server.com. That new email is from admin@another-domain-on-server.com. That is, server-to-server email.
3. When I send this email - a mail from admin@another-domain-on-server.com to xyz@domain-on-server.com, I get failure messages that pertain to the message from xyz@domain-on-server.com that is on the queue. That is, I will get a failure message stating that the mail to 111@recip1.com is too large and is rejected by that ISP, that the mail to 222@recip2.com is too large, etc.
Obviously, something is wrong, as I should not be getting failure messages that are intended for xyz@domain-on-server.com.
Any thoughts about the problem? How to fix it?
Thanks,
gc
