MailEnable outlook configuration issue

Hi,

While trying to configure outlook to work with Mail Enable Standard Edition.

"503 Bad Sequence of Commands" error is displayed in SMTP logs. In the configuration "My Outgoing Server Requires SMTP Authentication" is checked.

If "Log on to incoming mail" option is checked, smtp server displays the error

"503 This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server."

However, "Allow relay for authenticated senders" option is checked in Mail Enable SMTP Connector properties.

Any help to solve this error will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Oner

The problem was due to CISCO firewall MailGuard feature and was solved with the command "no fixup protocol smtp 25"
