Merak 9.0 API, incompatible with plesk 8.1/8.2 ...

Hi,
I have this big problem, after installing the new Merak Mail Server, version 9.0, i received this error when adding/updating domain in plesk enviroment (8.1 and 8.2) :
(I think that the problem is the new api.dll in merak...)


Failed domain creation: Unable to update domain data: Failed mail post-configuration: Can't create mail domain servie: mailManager->addDomain() failed: mailmng failed: Class not registered (COM Error 80040154) at Can't CreateInstance(MerakCOM.APIObject)

Plesk for Windows does not support Merak 9 yet.

It is scheduled for Q1'08.

We are using Merak9 as central Mailserver here in our Expand-Environment and need to use the new features in Merak9!
We simply cannot wait until 2008 to use this new version!

Please increase the prio of the development for the new Merak-Version!

there's a news...
Pick up a old api.dll from merak version 8.5 or 8.9 :
works fine for my enviroment !

Anyway, I hope in faster develop from Swsoft for major compatibility,
with Merak 9.0

Hello CryoGenID,

Please look at Plesk 8.2 for Windows Release Notes or ask SWsoft support before upgrading 3rd party software.

Unfortunately Plesk 8.3 for Windows feature set already closed. Thus, if we will have more time then we will try to fix it. If no then sorry.

How is the point of view of Swsoft in means of support if we use the solution of
3ASistemi (thanks for the tip by the way ) and simply exchange the API-Dll?
Do we lose support for interaction of Plesk<->Merak?

We didn't check it. However it seems, this is the working solution.

This fix worked for me!
I copied over the Merak 8.5 api.dll and it worked like a champ!

It's great that icewarp.com still
have all their old versions available for download.
