  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Migrating individual user accounts and saved emails

Hello,
I have completed a migration from Ensim X to Plesk 8.6
Most domains and accounts were successfully migrated using the built in Migration Manager but, there are some domain user accounts that were not migrated, or have problems with saved email folders, and I'd like to know:
1- How can I migrate an individual user account form the old Ensim X, to the new Plesk.
2- The saved email folders the users used to have access using OpenWebmail are now stored under:
/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/web_users/username/mail/
but they are not available under Horde, how can I move, export/import those folders to be available under Horde WebMail.

Thanks for all your help,
Renato

Hello!

1. The PMM will only migrate the domain at whole. You could not migrate one account from domain.
You could not migrate individual accounts to existing domain.

You could repair problem, delete domain, and migrate it again, or create such accounts manually.

2. I am not sure that you could migrate OpenWebmail web-folders to Horde. Horde works with IMAP folders.

Tnanks.

Hello,
Thanks for clarifying point #1.

As for #2
These old folders (OpenWebMail ones) are of type mbox, and Horde need them on Maildir format, so we attempted to transform them using the info provided here: http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11110

The problem I'm facing with the accounts I tested, is with the resulting permissions.
I'm able to see the transformed folders and the stored emails, but the original Inbox contents were removed and I cannot subscribe to those new folders, it says permission denied.
In one account I get error: ./Maildir: Permission denied
I can login to webmail in this account

In another account the error says: Unable to switch to /var/qmail/mailnames/domain-name.com/user-name: access denied. (#4.3.0)
I can NOT login to webmail with this account

It seems like file permissions were modified and even though I have set them as they look on other working account, these ones are giving me these problems.

chown -R popuser.popuser /var/qmail/mailnames/domain-name.com/user-name
chmod -R 700 /var/qmail/mailnames/domain-name.com/user-name
chmod 600 /var/qmail/mailnames/domain-name.com/user-name/.qmail

Thanks a lot for all your help,
Renato

got the permissions resolved

Ok, I reissue the above chmod commands, and the permission problems were resolved, probably I didn't run them properly the first time (most like a CTRL+C Shift+Ins problem)

3- I still have to resolve the problem of migrating a single e-mail account from the old server to the new one.

4- There's another issue with a particular email account which username is: adm
Can anyone please tell me if Plesk have any issues with small user names such as this 3 letter one?
We are able to send and receive via WebMail, BUT we cannot get Outlook to send and receive, keeps poping up: invalid username or password.
