• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Migration assistent hangs

TimPeeters

New Pleskian
I was trying to migrate some websites from another Plesk server (9.3) to my new 10.0.1 server. Size was approx. 10GB, over a 100mbit connection.

When I started the migration it got within a few minutes to 14% and said it was busy transferring the files. But after 3-4 hours it was still at 14%... In the meanwhile my Plesk 9.3 was not accessible...

Do you have permanent or trial license installed on Plesk 10?

i had same problem on my testserver the simple sollution was not enough disc space available in destination test-system. is there enough space on your destination system? it would be cool if the migration manager checks if enough space is available before starting the migration

I requested a 14 day trial a few days ago on your website.

What lhwparis says could be the problem too, since it stores the temp files in /usr and my / partition is only 10GB. I will try to change that to /var. Thanks for the advice!

I created a folder /var/migration and used this as the folder for migration. But it seems like it's still the same, it almost immediately went to 14% and now it's stuck...

is plesk still responding? can you access :8443? if yes wait a little longer sometimes migration stucks a little. that plesk was not responing anymore was 100% the problem that you had not enough disc space. same on my system.

@Parallels: Pls let Migration Manager check disc space on temp partition before migrating!

Hmm it's not all solved...

It said it was done for 100% but with errors, errors like these:

Any idea what I am doing wrong now?

Done that and tried again, but now I get this error:
