  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Migration Manager from 10.x to 11.x - headache!

dtbaker

Basic Pleskian
Struggling a bit here with the migration.

The web interface successfully copied across 23G of data from the old server to the new server but seems to have stopped without errors.

Home > Tools & Settings > Migration & Transfer Manager > shows a status of Failed and this in the error log box:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  <execution-result status="success" log-location="/usr/local/psa/PMM/rsessions/20130801163257191/migration.result"/>

Here's the copied data.

Code:
$ du -sh /usr/local/psa/PMM/var/20130801100228283
23G	/usr/local/psa/PMM/var/20130801100228283

I have tried running the "Migration & Transfer Manager" again and choosing the "Already Data On Server" and got notwhere using this file
Code:
/usr/local/psa/PMM/var/20130801100228283/dump.xml
(lots of "owner" related errors) but I'm getting more success if I input this file into the interface
Code:
/usr/local/psa/PMM/var/20130801100228283/dump.xml.withowners

It will now ask me for the new IP addresses and then shows a "Conflicts Occurred During the Restoration Process" message with a list of about 1/5th of the domain names in the import file. No other errors just a list of domain names.

Clicking on next from the conflict screen takes me to a "Resolution Rules for Restoration Conflicts" I leave the default option selected ( "Use configuration and data from backup" ) and click next.

I'm then taken to another "Conflicts" warning page, but this time there is no title text and nothing listed in the conflicts area. Just an empty page with "next" and "cancel". Clicking "next" takes me back to the "Resolution Rules for Restoration Conflicts". I change the default option and choose "Use configuration from current system and data from backup" instead and click "next" but after a minute I'm taken back to that same empty conflicts page. Clicking next and takes me back to the same "Resolution Rules for Restoration Conflicts" page again and I choose the last available option of "Do not restore" and click "next".

I'm finally taken to the "Backup Manager" area of Plesk with a Information: Restoration of backup dump.xml.withowners is complete message but nothing is imported (probably due to choosing the "no not restore" option previously).

I seem to have the data from the Plesk migration on the new server, how can I import this data into Plesk if the web interface isn't working? Any pointers would be appreciated!

Cheers,
Dave

googling that ".discovered directory not found" now to see if that is an issue

the dump.xml and dump.xml.withowners files had a section of duplicate "user" entries like this:

Code:
<user is-domain-admin="false" name="robina@xxxxxxxxxx" is-built-in="false" contact="robina plesk" subscription-name="removed" is-legacy-user="false" email="robina@xxxxxxxxxx" guid="3bf7f35f-7de1-8dda-9415-xxxxxxxx" cr-date="2012-05-22T12:09:43+11:00">

i have removed these from the dump.xml files manually and am re-running the migration now to see how that goes

no go, migrating sites individually. bah

I noticed from the title of this thread -- "Migration Manager from 10.x to 11.x..." -- that your attempting to transfer from Plesk Panel ver. 10 to Plesk Panel ver. 11.

The section "Transferring Panel Data" of the "Installation, Upgrade, Migration, and Transfer Guide. Parallels Plesk Panel 11.0" states...

Transferring Panel Data

Transfer is a process of moving hosting data (service plans, accounts, subscriptions with content, and so on) from one Panel server (source) to another server with Panel of the same version (destination server). Transfer lets you, for example, seamlessly move your Panel to a more productive server or from one Linux distribution to another.

Struggling a bit here with the migration.

The web interface successfully copied across 23G of data from the old server to the new server but seems to have stopped without errors.

Home > Tools & Settings > Migration & Transfer Manager > shows a status of Failed and this in the error log box:

no go, migrating sites individually. bah

I'm not clear on the difference between the two different approaches that you took (i.e., bulk versus individual).

Could you elaborate?

TIA,
