  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Nameservers How Do I?

Hi,

I've been bouncing this question about on other forums for a while, and I want to get a definative answer or the best method.

I have 1 server that I just put online, with that server I have 16 ips, 13 of which are usable. I have named my server s1.mycompany.net and setup a reverse dns for s1.mycompany.net to 80.xx.xx.226 the first ip of the batch.

I have created the nameservers ns1 to ns4 through my domain control panel with 123-Reg.co.uk.

So where do I go from here. Do i need to create a reverse dns for ns1, ns2, ns3, ns4. Do I also have to but ns1 on the next ip after the one s1.mycompany.net is on, so ns1 would be 80.xx.xx.227 and so on.

Thanks in advance,

Matt
