• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Nextcloud (22) and OpenBaseDir

E42

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Debian 11
Plesk version and microupdate number

Hello,
I'm trying to install Nextcloud (through the Plesk extension) in a subdomain (using PHP 7.4 FPM) but it says:

"open_basedir" parameter in PHP settings for domain must include "{WEBSPACEROOT}"

The fact is that the domain DOES include it, as you can see from the PHP settings:
open_basedir: {WEBSPACEROOT}{/}{:}{TMP}{/} (Default)

What could be missing? Thank you

The issue is most probably caused by NextCloud bugs EXTCERT-3437 when it is not possible to install a NextCloud extension for the domain when the domain does not resolve to the server IP address.
The mentioned bugs are planned to be fixed in the next extension release version.
Until the bugs will be fixed, please apply the following workaround:
In /etc/ hosts file add the line

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx sub.domain.tld

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is IP address of your server. Then repeat NextCloud installation.
